Have spent time annually with my family on the Keweenaw Peninsula since I was 4 years old. Some of the fondest memories of my life include this big water. At 14 I learned to surf near 5 Mile Point, using a well worn 2 x 12 plank. My wife and I honeymooned in a tent at the mouth of the Gratiot River. Had wild blue and thimble-berries on our pancakes. I've Snowmobiled hundreds of miles in the wonderful Winter months. In recent years my son and I have camped several places in Keweenaw County.
